W.A.Y.T., acronym for Who Are You Thelma, creates a fictional world.
With light inspired by chiaroscuro and three rainy street sounds, we draw on the resources of the imagination. Rooted in the aesthetics of Film Noir genre, Pauline Raineri invites two dancers to reclaim the codes of that era while questioning the construction gender. How is this female figure built? How dehumanized is she? In this dark duet, one of the dancer embodies the archetype of the femme fatale and the fantasy that it represents. As a counterpoint to this construction, there is the male figure, the filmmaker's gaze. |
