WAVE is a contemporary dance company founded in Geneva in 2016 under the artistic direction of Pauline Raineri. It is supported by La Loterie Romande, Fondation Emilie Gourd, Nestlé Fondation pour l'Art, Fluxum Foundation, Fonds SIG and CORODIS.
The company is selected by RESO - réseau danse suisse to be part of the platform Tanzfaktor 2018 with the solo Si | Si. A 19-dates-tour is programmed throughout Switzerland between march 2018 and September 2018. This amazing opportunity will allow the company to expend and show the work in other cantons of Switzerland.
Finally, we are very happy to share with you that Seedspace selected WAVE to be part of a coworking space within the Flux Laboratory in Carouge, GE.
The creation of the company
After two creations, Boa Viagem in 2013 presented at Festival Antigel and Si | Si in 2015 performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015 and 2016 (UK), Festival Resolution ! 2016 in London (UK), Lucky Trimmer Festival in Berlin etc. Pauline decided to create the company WAVE in order to support and continue her creative work. WAVE also collaborated with Junebug Company (CH) to set up two triptychs, Budge3 and Trip The Light, that were performed respectively at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015 and 2016. The two companies created the piece Carte Blanche together. This quartet is completely improvised and the dancers use inputs and suggestions from the audience to create choreographic tableaux.
In 2017, she created a short duet named THELMA with the support of Les Quarts d'Heures du Théâtre Sévelin 36 in Lausanne.
The piece won the second prize at the Festival Arcadanse in Annecy in march 2017 and was also performed in Geneva.
WAVE will present its new creation, titled W.A.Y.T., at Théâtre du Galpon in Geneva in June 2018.

The committee of the association, represented by the president Tamara Bacci has an important place. Pauline wants to collaborate with people she trusts and with different points of view in order to create a generous, rich and diverse work. Being surrounded by experienced, curious artists from different horizons allows questions to emerge and to work with a sense of deep research.

ARTISTIC DIRECTION
-Pauline Raineri - choreographer & dancer
Born in 1992 in Annecy, Pauline trained in Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional d’Annecy. She also studied at the Virginia School of the Arts (USA) for one year where whe perfected her ballet training. In 2010, she joined the Ballet Junior de Genève where she danced pieces by Barak Marshall, Stijn Celis, Guilherme Bothelo, Patrick Delcroix, and Alexander Ekman.
As a dancer :
After graduating in 2013, Pauline danced in the production Moses und Aaron (creation) directed by Roméo Castellucci and choreographed by Cindy Van Acker. She danced in the pieces Into Outside (creation), Blue Twig (creation) and Murky Depths by the Beaver Dam Cie and Oh | Glory and TERRA by James Finnemore. Pauline also worked for John Ross in London on the piece Little Sheep and restaged the piece Black Cold Burn by Stijn Celis for the Ballet Junior de Genève.
She is currently working for Sally Marie in London on the piece BeautifuL that will be Premiered in February 2018 in London.
As a maker :
Pauline collaborated with Junebug Company on the triptychs Budge3, Trip The Light and created, in collaboration with the collectiv, the improvised dance piece Carte Blanche.

Recently, she was part of the event 24h de création in Moutier where she had the opportunity to meet incredible artists and maybe start some collaborations in the future.
She is currently working on a street theatre creation with Arnaud Mathey and Eliot Bühlman that is planned to be performed next year. More news soon!
As a teacher :
Pauline was recently teaching during the Budge Summer Intensive this past month in Geneva. She is occasionally giving pro classes in Geneva at L'impasse/Studio Greffe.
